	Scale Blaster - Ioniser - Oxyfère - PurEauMax Scale Blaster Whether it is for health, economical or ecological reasons the use of ion exchange softeners using salt are not any more recommended for solving hardness problems. The electronic scale-remover and softener Scale-Blaster is clearly much simpler and more economical to remove scale in you plumbing and soften your water without using salt or other chemicals. The Scale Blaster generates an electromagnetic field which will transform the electrical and physical characteristics of the Calcium carbonates (CaCO₃) ions in the water. The CaCO₃ ions will behave differently and will repel from sticking to pipes and the increased solubility of the water will remove the already established scale build-up. (top of page) Copper/Silver Ioniser Picture on the left of this page The copper/silver ioniser electrodes release copper and silver ions in the pool or spa water which is then sanitised. These ions are toxic to bacteria, viruses and microscopic algae. Their action eliminates these micro-organisms and prevents their proliferation. Residential pool and spa water can solely sanitised by the copper/silver ionisation. However, when needed, an oxidising agent is still required to achieve the degradation of natural body and solar oil. Depending on the frequency and/or the number of bathers a weak concentration of oxidiser, like chlorine or bromine may be used then. Copper/silver ionisation limits oxidiser concentration to 0,3 ppm. instead of the 1,5 ppm. to 2 ppm recommended. You can reduce your water consumption and avoid releasing pollutants to the environment in eliminating the need for backwash with Potassium Permanganate (KMnO4) required by the conventional iron-depleting conditioners. Functioning: The Oxyfère is available in different sizes cylinder depending on the load of oxidisation required. The internal media is Manganese dioxide (MnO2) rich mineral which acts as an red-ox catalyser, oxidising the ferrous Iron into Ferric Iron which then precipitates and is captured by the sand like filter effect of the media. To regenerate the apparatus, only a quick (8 to 20 min.) high flow backwash is required without any other chemical(s) addition. Functioning: The PurEauMax comes in 2 different presentations; first a small as online housing and replaceable cartridge filter (see picture in text body) and secondly as a high capacity cylinder containing up to 1.5 cu.ft. of washable activated charcoal (similar to the Oxyfère cylinder above).
